What is being announced?
We are pleased announce the October 19, 2010 release of Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Patchset 1 (11.2.0.2) on HP-UX Itanium and IBM AIX on POWER Systems.

With this patch set, Oracle has changed the packaging and installation so that customers who wish to upgrade directly to 11.2.0.2 from a previous release (such as 10.2.0.5) can upgrade directly rather than first installing 11.2.0.1 then applying 11.2.0.2.
